 Being registered with the right modelling agency will make it a hundred times easier for you to find work. However, agents will charge you around 20% for their services. You can find contacts for many of the UK’s leading modelling agencies listed in our Links section.
The UK Hotlist was principally designed to be a free scouting tool for all UK modelling and talent agencies but you can use also your UK Hotlist profile to sell yourself to them directly. If you register your profile on the UK Hotlist, you can email it to any agency you wish (even if they are not registered on our site) completely free of charge!
Helpful Hint: The UK Hotlist does not allow any agency that charges upfront fees access to message our members. If any registered UK Hotlist agent members offer you representation in return for a registration fee, please should inform us immediately. None of the major modelling agencies will charge you to be on their books and we do not recommend ones that charge upfront fees.
Agency Contracts
When you sign a contract with an agency, you are entering in to an agreement with them. Like any business contract you should read and consider it thoroughly. If you are unsure of anything at all try Googling it or asking someone with more experience than you. If you don’t know anyone, you can always ask for advice on one of our forums.
You should consider what signing a contract will legally bind you to do, or could restrict you from doing.
There is no need to rush in to signing a contract with an agency. Remember that they should want you on their books as much as you want to be on them.
Helpful Hint: Sometimes, exclusive contracts are not even necessary. Discuss all the options with your agency.
